All about Generation Church
A church within a church
At GC we have a saying: "we is The City Church." That's right: Generation Church is the youth ministry of The City Church. The goal of GC is to produce young people who are planted in the church for their entire lives. The City Church is now 18 years old, and we're now starting to see couples who were saved in GC, met in GC, got married at The City Church and are now raising their kids in the children's ministry (City Kids). That's cool.
GC in a nutshell
Generation Church wasn't born yesterday. The founders of Generation Church, Pastors Jude and Becky Fouquier, had a vision to reach this generation with the reality of God. After they passed the ministry onto Pastors Judah and Chelsea Smith, it grew to reach over 1200 junior high, high school and college age students every week; with multiple campuses, including one two blocks from the gates of the University of Washington.
In early 2009 Pastor Judah was named the Preaching Pastor at The City Church, and the leadership of GC was again passed — this time to Pastors Elijah and Annemarie Waters. Later, Pastor Judah was named Lead Pastor of The City Church.
GC Staff & Pastors
You'd think Generation Church would be staffed by hundreds upon thousands of people, wouldn't you? (In fact, we are staffed by hundreds of faithful and amazing volunteer leaders, but ...) Nope! Just a few good men and woman make it happen.
